Cleaning the houses Brighton is actually made of
Brighton is a city of Regency terraces, tall Victorian houses and flats carved out of both. A lot of what we clean has high ceilings, original sash windows, bay fronts, tiled hallways and old floorboards, and every one of those has its own cleaning quirks. Sash windows collect dust in the runners. Cornicing catches cobwebs the vacuum never reaches. Bare boards need mopping with care, not a soaking.
Then there are the basement and garden flats, where condensation and damp-prone corners mean bathrooms and window frames need more attention than usual. Our cleaners get to know a property, so by the second or third visit they already know which room needs the extra ten minutes.
From Kemptown to Preston Park and beyond
Kemptown is home ground. Eastern Terrace, the Regency squares and crescents, the streets running down to the seafront and the Marina side are all a short walk from where we start the day. From there we work out across Hanover, with its steep colourful terraces, through Seven Dials and the area around the Clock Tower, up to Preston Park and out towards Fiveways and Withdean.
We also clean in the North Laine and the city centre, where flats above shops and in converted buildings are common. If you live in a building with a shared entrance or limited parking, tell us when you book and we will plan the visit around it.
Rentals, students and the changeover calendar
Brighton has a large rental market, and the cleaning calendar follows it. Tenancy ends cluster around the summer and early autumn, when students and young professionals move on and landlords want their properties back in shape. If you are leaving a rental, an end of tenancy clean at £30 an hour is the cleanest way to protect your deposit. If you are a landlord, we can turn a property around between tenants.
The seafront and city centre are also full of short lets. For hosts we run Airbnb changeovers at £23 an hour, with fresh linen and restocked essentials, so the flat is ready for the next guests and the reviews stay good.
Regular cleans for Brighton households
Regular cleaning suits anyone who wants the house looked after without chasing a cleaner. A weekly or fortnightly clean at £20 an hour gives you one cleaner who knows the house and holds a key if you want them to. Eco-friendly products are included, which matters in a city where plenty of people are choosy about what goes on their surfaces.
If you are starting from scratch, a deep clean at £30 an hour is a good first visit. It brings everything up to standard, and your regular cleans then maintain it.
